AKWA IBOM 2023: UNVEILING THE MAN, SENATOR EFFIONG BOB

The success story of any political leader lies in his level of integrity, vision, empathy and accountability. The ability to be a visionary leader, with high level of honesty makes the political leader able to perform his duty perfectly.

These days, the world is brimming with ambitious political leaders but sadly, very few match up to the traits of good leadership. In fact, many political leaders appear to be severely lacking in some of the most essential qualities of a good leader such as integrity and accountability.

Just as aspirants are aiming for the topmost position in States of Nigeria, it is important to remind our politicians of the need for effective leadership.

Beaming my searchlight into Akwa Ibom State, it is pertinent to unveil the person of Senator Effiong Bob to the citizenry. He is a politician that fascinates his admirers; he is known to have capacity, intelligence, experience, character, contents and vision. His leadership qualities are innate.

In this write up, I will limit my readers to three leadership traits of Senator Effiong Bob that stand him out from the crowd of other aspirants in Akwa Ibom State which has made him the choice of the people for the number one position.

Undoubtedly, Senator Effiong Bob is a visionary leader. He is one with an inspiring vision of the future of Akwa Ibom State having started his political journey from the grassroots level. Even with his proficiency in Commercial Law, he decided to stay close to his people as he began his law practice in Eket in 1985.

His closeness to the people makes him able to see the future, knowing what the needs of the electorates are and how best to serve the people better.

Apart from creating an inspiring vision of the future, Senator Bob will motivate and inspire the people to engage with the vision.

Similarly, the leadership trait of integrity is one key quality that cannot be negotiated upon when effective leadership qualities of Distinguish Senator Effiong Bob are stated.

With several years of elections’ experiences, he knows the rudiments of politics, having been a two-term Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a one-time Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Akwa Ibom State. Also, he was a former Deputy Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, amongst others. He has high level of integrity that cannot be compromised. He possesses the attributes of probity, honesty, contentment, truthfulness, fair-play, non-compromise of principles and soundness, which are all attributes of integrity in politics. With Senator Effiong Bob in the political picture, there is hope for the electorates of a brighter future for Akwa Ibom State.

Being empathetic as a political leader is another good quality of Distinguished Senator Effiong Bob. Empathy, no doubt is in-born in him, not made. He is a philanthropist. Senator Bob is a grassroots politician who has the record of being on ground for so many years and is familiar with the needs of Akwa Ibom State and the people. He is a loyal party man and has remained faithful to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP since inception. Therefore, he has the ability to identify or understand the perspective, experiences, or motivation of the people of the State.

Having unveiled some of his qualities which endear him to the citizenry as a great political leader, Senator Bob remains the leader with a great personality who has the courage to stand up and say what needs to be said and done, rather than just tell the general public what it wants to hear. He is the right choice for Akwa Ibom State, come 2023.
