CHIEF ELIJAH IFOT: THE COMMITTED AKISCOM BOT CHAIRMAN

Experience, commitment and dedication are the best words to describe the personality of Chief Elijah Ifot, the former President, Akwa Ibom State Community, AKISCOM, Lagos, and the Ufukeyo Ikot Ekpene.

Chief Ifot is the true definition of leadership during his reign as the AKISCOM President, to the admiration of Akwa Ibom indigenes in Lagos and in diaspora. He was the father to all giving listening ears to anyone who approached him for any reason.

According to Harold Geneen, “Leadership is practiced, not so much in words as in attitude and in actions”. This quote truly defines the man, Chief Elijah Ifot. He walks the talk because he believes what he does has far greater impact than what he says.

His appointment as the AKISCOM Board of Trustees Chairman, by the incumbent President of AKISCOM, Chief Edet Ambang, PhD, was a “right peg in the right hole”.

According to Chief Ifot in an interview with Great Achievers World magazine, he said the BOT members, together with him will unite to make sure AKISCOM comes back stronger as it used to be during his tenure as President. He also assured that they will, together with Chief Ambang, the President and his Exco and Akwaibomites build the proposed AKISCOM Plaza to start operations as soon as possible by bringing in government presence. Also, he promised to work together to make sure Akwa Ibom indigenes benefit from AKISCOM.

From the aforementioned achievements of Chief Elijah Ifot, it is noted that Ifot will use his experience of many years to bear in this new assignment.

Ifot will also put into action his community leadership qualities and administrative expertise in ensuring that AKISCOM Plaza project is achieved.

There couldn’t have been a better candidate for this position at this time, than Chief Elijah Ifot, the Ufukeyo Ikot Ekpene, considering his track records in his previous position as AKISCOM President which recorded major achievements.
