Ntatam: A Healer On A Mission

Dr. Emmanuel Ntatam is not a medical doctor neither is he a professional in the medical field. He is not also into the practice of native or alternate medicine. He doesn’t also own a church or a prayer house. Healing
(done by God through man’s care and treatment) resides in these places.

Before becoming a financial accountant, Dr. Ntatam says he passed through a lot of challenges on the way to making it in life. Some of these challenges included feeding, housing and education. So, he grew up pledging that he will not allow anyone around him pass through what he did. That was the basis for his love for humanitarian activities. According to him, pains grade the road that leads to undeniable breakthrough.

For this reason, many who have come across the healer have not only been healed, some have been permanently settled following the healing.

As a humanitarian, Ntatam loves children, women, the elderly and young people. He has shown love and care towards all of them.

For children, Dr. Ntatam has invested, out of love, in the sustenance of some sets of twins children. One set, Ekemini and Testimony, children to one Paul Effiong of Ikot Ekpeyak, Ikono in Uyo , were saved from dying. After their mother died after giving birth to them, he took over their care, and recently celebrated their birthday with them. An elated Effiong said he saw God through Dr. Ntatam and his saving grace.

They are not the only set of twins. At the last count, over 10 of such children are direct beneficiaries of his love and care.

Other children who enjoy his benevolence are primary school children accross schools, especially in Ikono where he took time off his busy schedule earlier in the year, to visit and encourage them with school items like books, pens and uniforms, thus complementing what Governor Umo Eno is doing in that sector.

For youths, his love for their upliftment knows no bound. As a believer in the power of education as a lead to economic empowerment and development, he has invested in the education of youths. Several of them are on his scholarship scheme. Before he went public recently with a N1 million scholarship scheme for students, he had been giving out scholarship to financially challenged youths. All he needs to do is hear that you have a challenge. He doesn’t need to know you, your father, your mother, your village head or your local government chairman. Recently, an Ikono daughter who almost dropped out of school was enabled by his kind gesture to continue her educational pursuit, just because someone brought it to his notice. The N1 million scholarship programme will target indigent students at the Akwa Ibom State University, University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Akwa Ibom State College of Education and Akwa Ibom State College of Technology. Tagged Go FOR IT, the programme encourages young people to go for it inorder to lighten their financial burden and give them better opportunity to education.

For women, there are stories of different shades of support, most of them unannounced, to women in support of their business enterprises and family life. To the elderly, especially men, he is a good son who has helped several in times of need, and in of care at their twilight. If he attends any function in his community, especially, he is always mobbed by these people, and people seeking one assistance or the other.

Dr. Ntatam is also a lover of God who believes that without God, his grace and his mercies, he wouldn’t have reached the height he has reached today. At every opportunity, he does his goodwill and funds to assist lift the work of God in churches. He has contributed to the building it churches, including one he is handling at the moment at Methodist Church, Nkara Obio in Ikono. At a launch to plan for the priesthood ordination of his kinsmen in the Catholic Church, Ikot Aya Ediene, he donated a car to the soon to become priest.

Today is World Humanitarian Day, set aside to celebrate humanitarians like him but his commitment to humanity goes beyond a day. He does it every day, and believes he will keep doing, with God’s sustaining power.
