We Did Not Fail, The System Prioritised Injustice Over Justice —— Emmanuel Ntatam, PhD

…… Urges teaming supporters to be law abiding

By Inemesit Ebu (Lagos)

Following the recent political developments surrounding his aspiration for the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly seat, Emmanuel Ntatam, PhD, has urged his supporters to remain calm, steadfast and law abiding, insisting that their struggle was not a failure but a victim of systemic injustice.

Speaking to his teaming supporters at his residence, Ntatam maintained that the people of Ediene/Itak were unjustly denied what he described as their rightful opportunity for representation.

“We did not fail. The system simply prioritised injustice over justice,” he declared.

According to him, the plea and calls by the people for him to join another party for the race may hit a brick wall out of respect for the newly passed Electoral Act, which forbids double party registration, stressing that, as a responsible citizen and leader, he would not violate the law for personal ambition.

Ntatam explained that despite the overwhelming support, encouragement and sacrifices made by his followers across the constituency, he chose the path of honour, legality and peace.

He further appreciated his supporters for standing firmly with him throughout the political journey, noting that their commitment, loyalty and belief in the struggle for fairness would never be forgotten.

The political figure, however, expressed disappointment that Ediene/Itak was denied what many supporters believed was a deserved chance at equitable representation in the Assembly race.

While acknowledging the pains and emotional weight of the development, Ntatam encouraged his supporters not to lose hope, insisting that better days lie ahead for the people.

He urged them to remain united, peaceful and committed to the ideals of justice, equity and development, adding that the struggle for a better Ikono and fair representation must continue through lawful means.

“We must obey the law while hoping for better days ahead. Our dreams for our people remain alive,” he stated.

Supporters and political observers say Ntatam’s decision to step aside in obedience to the law may further strengthen his image as a disciplined and principled leader committed to democratic values and peaceful political engagement.
