HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A GREAT JOURNALIST
Mr. Ray Ekpu is 76 today. I’m always grateful to God for passing through his tutelage as a young girl aiming high in media practice.
I must count myself a lucky person to have profiled a personality such as Mr. Ray Ekpu the erudite journalist on his 70th birthday . It was a great celebration and he made my young magazine then , the official magazine of the day.
The day I went to seek his permission to profile and feature him on the cover of my magazine on his 70th birthday, he said to me βInemesit, whatever my name and my image can do to promote your magazine, Iβll encourage you to go aheadβ. That made my day. On the day, 6th August, 2018, almost everyone who was at the event bought w copy. Great job!
Writing about a man who knows the tenet of the media profession can be tasking. So, I struggled with my brain on where to start such an important package. First, I needed to prove to him that what he taught me to do as a little girl then in Newswatch, that I had become an expert now.
While putting everything together, so many thoughts came to my mind; I remembered that he is a man who is very particular about thoroughness and a man of standard judging from his articles in Newswatch and in other media platforms.
At last, I was able to come up with a package on him. He called to congratulate me for a job well done.
Mr. Ray Ekpu has risen to the peak in the journalism ladder and he is worthy to be celebrated. He is my role model. I use this medium to thank him for being an inspiration to me and others in the media world.
Friends, please join me to celebrate my boss and a great man. Happy birthday Sir. MΓ y God continue to strengthen you in good health, Amen. πππππππππΎπΎπΎπΎπΎππ°πͺπ·π₯ππππππ°πͺπππππΎπ₯π·
